Theodore Zinck was a saloonkeeper in Ithaca in the 1890s and his pub was a popular gathering-place for Cornellians. When the last “Zinck’s” closed in the mid ’60s, celebrating the “Spirit of Zinck’s” became a favorite Thursday-night Collegetown tradition for undergraduates and thousands of Cornellians worldwide.
The Cornell Alumni Association of the Ithaca Area is once again celebrating the annual Zinck’s gathering at Corks & More, a wine lounge and tapas bar on the Cayuga Lake Inlet. All Cornellians and their guests, including visiting alumni from other regions, are welcome! A $7 registration covers an assortment of appetizers, and you can put money on a wine card to sample whatever wines you’d like using their self-serve dispensers, or buy beer or cocktails at the full bar.
If you’re not going to be in Ithaca that Thursday night, find the nearest Zinck’s gathering to your current location at http://www.alumni.cornell.edu/zincks/
